He said to tell you; find me genuinely child!

Dear friend, I trust you are doing good and well. I hope you are happy this weekend and that whatever the challenges are, God will settle it.

Talking about God, I heard he is in the atmosphere, I mean he is always around, but this is different, the feeling is more intense and thicker, it’s like the wind blowing its energy in the right direction, it is magnificent and lovely to behold. God is around.

Let me tell you something quick about todays letter, its for you and was sent to you because somehow, I stopped writing about the other topic and shifted to this immediately after the series that ended last week. I truly can feel that this was meant to be this week’s letter.

So today, I have some words I feel drawn to share and its about knowing and finding God for yourself.

I grew up in a Churchy family, everyday morning devotion and mid-week services, activities, church cleaning, choir/drama rehearsals, secretary for youth, organizing secretary in my university fellowship, you can name it but will I call that finding him? Probably yes, but I guess I found him on a different scale. I am not saying that I didn’t serve God truthfully all these whiles. Sure, I did.

However, the day it became clear that I was called to be more than I am, that my heart and that of God syncs freely, that my existence is known to him, that all I ever will be has been written, that he continues to love me and pour down his oil of adoration on me was the day I fell genuinely in-love and renewed with him. That day, my life changed.

I found out that we could have more of a communication than ‘asking’ and ‘wanting’. I discovered different things about God, about how we could even laugh together and smile together as friends because he is my friend and yours too. That day was the beginning of my definite and awesome relationship with God, the relationship I would never trade for anything. So even in the kitchen, we have conversations, really cool conversations.

Dear friend, God said to tell you that you can find him for yourself, that even if you listen to all the messages and preaching, all the church going and activities, but have no closeness with him. It has become as one who goes to the hospital for treatment but refuses to see the doctor. God said to tell you these words of love, these words to draw you closer to him, like a friend, like a confidant, so when you pray, it wont only be about what you want that you don’t have or what the devil is trying to do. However, about you both, about how his love emanates and shines forth on everything you touch, about how beautiful you think he is, about how strong your connection is with him now.

So, sometimes you could just laugh at certain things and say; ‘God, I see you, I know you did this, I oblige, you won’.

He said;

I love you wholeheartedly, you are an emblem of shining light
For I made you so, in my image and replica, I formed you with pride
I see you but can you see me
I want to hear you speak my name, to call me who I am, I am that I am
To remember that nothing is impossible with me
To laugh with me for I am your friend, and I wish that you could see me as one
Not one of pretense but of truth and fineness
To talk to me about it all
Let us have that conversation
Just sit in silence and you shall hear the thoughts I have for you
For I am with you, why worry?
For I love you more than the stars
And yet they are so beautiful and great
How much more do you think that I think of you
In what capacity can you fathom it
For what I desire for you is greater than the sky
Farther than the oceans
Prettier than the lilies in the garden
More precious than roses
So sit with me and abide with me
Know me truly and let it all be
For every other thing shall be added
But cut not away our friendship
Forget not what we should share
In the moments when your mind is clouded by what you currently feel
Accept my hand and I shall take yours
For I am just here, all the time, with you, in you, sitting with you
But let me in will you

I could feel my heart racing when I wrote these words and trust me, this wasn’t just me writing. God penned this down through me and I cannot but be glad. This is because I have had these discussions with some people, about people finding God truly without waiting for a need or want.

God will eventually provide all that you seek, just keep trusting him and believing in him, but never let it blind the relationship that you could have with him. He desires you, asides the needs and wants you have; he wants you to seek him beyond all the problems and challenges that you may be facing.

When Elijah needed food, God sent a Raven and we know that a Raven by nature is quite selfish, I mean they always hide food and are always hungry, but the mouth of the Raven was shut and didn’t make it eat what was Elijah’s. Point is, nothing that is meant for you will be taken from you so calm down and just open your heart out to God and just as he said in Matthew 6:33, every other thing will be added. I have seen this work in my life and I believe it when I say that sometimes I just smile and talk to God like we are having a conversation.

He wants you to ask him certain questions, about him and about the world. He wants that friendliness, that gist time and fun time with you. God wants you so much and he wishes everyday that you form that personal relationship with him where you could tell him anything and everything.

I once heard a message, where a pastor said that when she knew that God gives the ultimate peace is when her first love broke up with her, she went to God and said ‘you’ve seen it Lord, he ain’t interested no more, now who’s going to love me’ and God replied ‘I have always loved you’.

Even when you lost that special person, when the divorce happened, when she said no to the ring and relationship of many years, when she parked up and left you with the kids, when your dad and mum separated, when the house rent expired and there was no dime in the account, when the sickness came and there wasn’t a thing the doctors could do, when food and daily living became a big deal, when you lost that contract, that business money, that opportunity or a job you cherished or banked on, when things didn’t just go well and when the world sits its problems on your shoulders, when waiting for the good seems like an endless journey,  just remember that God can give you peace like no one else can.

When life happens all around, when you get that good thing, that fantastic job, that good pay, that child you longed for, that husband or wife, that sickness healed, those bills paid for, that contract signed off, that relationship blossoming, that nice house, the good car, the good deal, the soft life. He still wishes that you both could sit and talk. Please do not forget him.

Dear friend, today I want you to breathe in and out, close your eyes and open them, picture him with you and just tell him all that is going on with you. Let it out dear friend. He is the only one who listen without a shrug and while you do this, ask him how he is, how you can know him better, tell him some stuff you’ve never told anyone and just let it sink in.

Let today be the start of something new.

God is able and willing to be the best-friend you thought you didn’t have.
